Represented Faculty Salary Increases

UIC Human Resources (UIC HR) has completed its review of merit, compression and equity salary increases for faculty represented by a bargaining unit for the academic year starting August 16, 2022, through March 15, 2023. The new salaries for eligible faculty with active appointments will be reflected in the April 14, 2023, payroll date (MN 4 pay period).  While initial increase amounts will be reflected in April earnings statements, a faculty member’s true annual salary will be documented on the official Notification of Appointment (NOA), which faculty will receive on April 15, 2023, from the Board of Trustees. The NOA will confirm the revised salary.

You may communicate increases to your faculty, preferably in a written communication.  It is recommended that you wait to send the communication until Friday, April 7, 2023, to allow UIC HR to complete our review prior to the payroll calculation deadline. The data submitted via the Salary Assignment Tool should be utilized to provide the salary information although you can combine the Compression and Equity awards.  In some cases, UIC HR has already communicated revisions to the original submissions to your respective college HR personnel and those revised salary amounts must be utilized in your communication.  If there are questions, the final amounts can be verified in the BANNER or HR Front End systems prior to notifying your faculty members.

The process for the review of the retro pay for FY 2023 will begin at this point. The retro pay process is very complex and requires a great deal of manual review to ensure accuracy. UIC HR will communicate more information regarding when faculty can expect the retro pay in their checks.
