SEIU Professional Retroactive Pay

As a general reminder, the University of Illinois at Chicago ratified the collective bargaining agreement with the SEIU Professional union on March 6, 2018. As part of the agreement, employees who were in the in the SEIU Professional union on the date of the tentative agreement, December 20, 2017, were eligible for increases and retroactive pay.

UIC Human Resources has completed its review of the retroactive calculations for all active employees.
Listed below are important notes regarding the retroactive payment:

  • The SEIU Professional retroactive payment is scheduled for payout on the Bi-weekly 12 (June 13, 2018) pay check for all currently active, eligible bargaining unit members. This includes active, eligible bargaining unit members that had job changes.
  • Retroactive payments will cover two time periods:
      • February 26, 2017 thru August 15, 2017 for the 2% increase effective February 26, 2017 (earnings appear on check as RP4)
    • August 16, 2017 thru March 10, 2018 for the 1% increase effective August 16, 2018 (earnings appear on check as RP5).

For employees that were in the SEIU Professional union on December 20,2017, but have since separated from the university after December 20, 2017, the retroactive payment is being calculated by UIC Human Resources. The final dollar amounts will be sent to the colleges and administrative units before Friday, June 15, 2018, to process an adjustment for payment to be received by the employee no later than June 29, 2018.
