Overview

Diversity is a UIC Human Resources Core Value. Through the establishment of action-oriented goals, the UIC HR Diversity Plan reflects the unit’s commitment to address the human capital needs of its customers. Leveraging the diverse strengths of its staff, the Diversity Committee coordinates activities and special events that support efforts to build an inclusive community in the workplace.

Within UIC Human Resource, recognizing and appreciating diversity goes well beyond the standard markers of gender and ethnicity. Staff members value all differences: age, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, beliefs, values, knowledge, experience, and ways of thinking and learning.
